What's new in Must Read 3.6.2
See how long each book has left and how many minutes you read each day. Choose print, ebook or audiobook for every book, and plenty of fixes. Much of it started as emails from readers.
How long a book has left
Every book you time now tells you how much reading is left in it: โ 3h 20m left. The estimate comes from your own pace with that book, not an average across everyone, because a thriller and a history of the Roman Empire don't read at the same speed.
You'll see it on the book's page, when you pick what to read, in your Library and in your lists. Lists now show each book's progress bar too, just like your Library. A book you haven't timed yet shows no estimate rather than a guess.
Your reading minutes, day by day
The Streak card in Statistics now shows how many minutes you read on each of the last 30 days, with your daily average. Tap a day, or drag across the chart, to see that day's minutes and pages.
Under the chart, your last 7 days sit next to the month, so you can see whether this week is a good one.
Print, ebook or audiobook
Many of us read the same week in three ways: a paperback at home, a Kindle on the train, an audiobook on a walk. Each book's page now has My format, where you pick Physical, Ebook or Audiobook. Until you choose, the book takes the format of its edition.
Audiobooks show how much you've listened instead of pages, and Statistics splits your month by format.
Pages per day that make sense
Add a book you're already halfway through and update it to page 200, and it used to count as 200 pages read that day. Now the first update on a book you'd already started asks whether you were already on that page, so your pages per day stay true.
Update progress also lets you add how long you read, for the time the timer didn't catch.
A quiet start on Apple Watch
If you read in bed next to someone who's asleep, you can now turn off the sound when a session starts or stops, in the app's Settings under Apple Watch. watchOS ties the tap on your wrist to the sound, so the tap goes too.
Swipe through your Reading calendar
Open a day in your Reading calendar and swipe to the next or previous day you read. Days without reading are skipped.
And everything else
Long notes, steady
Long notes and reviews no longer jump or lose their ending while you type.
Sign in with Apple
It no longer fails after you've approved it.
The right prices
The Pro screen shows your prices after a lost connection, and its buttons work again.
Usernames
Choosing a username now tells you when it's already taken.
iPad keyboards
The app no longer closes on iPad when you type a number with some keyboards.
Imports
Every book starts ticked on the review screen, and the summary tells you when two rows in your file were the same book.
Lock Screen
Resuming a session after its goal has passed shows it on your Lock Screen again.
Adding a book by hand
A title that's too long now tells you why it can't be saved, instead of closing without a word.
