Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus, a book by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, was published for the first time in 1818. The story of Victor Frankenstein, a young researcher who creates an unusual, perceptive beast using an unorthodox logical reasoning, is told in the novel. The book was begun by Shelley when he was eighteen and finished by him when he was nineteen. In 1818, the untitled instant release was circulated around London. In the following version, which was aired in 1831, Shelley's name is mentioned.

The book had a profound impact on literature and common culture, inspiring a category of startling plays, movies, and stories. It is said to be the very first example of science fiction. Frankenstein is said to be one of the first works by a woman activist, permeated by particular elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic growth.
