Poetic Journey: Life tried to destroy me, but I fought back!

First off let me be the first to thank you for making this investment and deciding to go on this “Poetic Journey” with me. Rest assured this poetry book will not be your traditional roses are red and violets are blue type of poetry. What should you expect as you explore the ink embedded deep in these pages? Although this is a poetry book, but to tell you the truth, this will be a roller coaster thriller of my life, filled with pain, struggles, heartaches, homelessness, suicidal thoughts and even my battle with God all express in poetic fashion. I will lay it all out in these pages for you to explore and feel with me. The journey started when I was introduced to poetry at age 19. Back then I was such a huge Tupac fan, and thought I would be the next great rapper lol. So please be patient with me as you read, there has to be a build up.
When I first started writing poetry, I promise you there was nothing poetic about it. What you will be introduced to is a canvas filled with verbal calligraphy of emotional expression bleeding on these pages through years of tears! As I shifted with father time, so did my poetic maturity. So please don’t grade this book, on the poetic context of perfection, or even grammatical accuracy. Rather I challenge you to view each passing poem in its rawest form of emotional expression and release.
I must warn you it's a lot to take in. So take your time with this book, savor each line. Chew each paragraph and stanza. Lastly swallow and digest each poem, as if you were living out each and every one of these poems with me.
Well I think I’ve braced you enough, and laid out a pretty decent road map of where our journeys will take us in this book. With that being said, let’s raise our anchors, prepare our sails, and grab hold of the wind, as we prepare to clash into tidal waves of poetic expression crashing against our emotions.
