Carlie was stunned to hear that her Aunt Magdalena had died, especially since she didn’t have an Aunt Magdalena. A lawyer in Maine had been kind enough to invite her to the reading of the will, so she took the chance and made the trip in her beat-up old car. After an embarrassing situation, Carlie is assisted by the town’s handsome sheriff and his rival, the local doctor, and discovers the late Magdalena’s demise is quite suspicious. A mysterious mansion, an approaching deadly storm, and a clever Maine Coon cat add to the possible romance and impending danger.
