Based on the actual events of the last years of the life of the part-black Russian romantic poet, "Pushkin" combines the dramatic intensity of a Shakespearean tragedy with an unadorned poetic style alike to that of Frost or Yeats. First performed in New York in 2018, it received a series of rave reviews hailing it as a modern classic.
