The Writing on the Wall Remarkable Story of a Woman Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling in the Male Dominated 60s And 70s

I was a trailblazer, but it didn't come without cost. There were a lot of decisions and sacrifice, but also many fun times. Chauvinism was rampant, I had no mentors. When sexism thwarted my job growth in advertising, the writing was on the wall. I needed to make my own way and so I founded the first central agency for freelance artists and writers. It was the swinging 60s and 70s, exciting and turbulent times.?Starting my business, Creative Freelancers Inc. in Manhattan in the 70s, brought unexpected challenges. Those challenges were amplified when I married an older man with three teenage daughters and gave birth to two children of my own. The difficulties I faced in the 70s, legal battles, office politics, and chaotic family dynamics, are the same difficulties faced by many women in business then and now. I am sharing my story to inspire and educate other women, while shedding a fresh light on those evolutionary times.
