Wicksy and the King's Shilling

Peter Wicks dedicates the third instalment of his memoirs to his father Frank Wicks who fought in the trenches of the First World War. Now in his teens Peter receives his own conscription papers, destined to become a military policeman. During his training he learnt to drive and discovered that bullies will be found in all walks of life. This book follows Peter's military career from training to demobilisation. Included is also Peter's poem 'The Return' written in response to Wilfred Owen's 'The Send Off'.
